FUE Hair Transplant Technique
The FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplant technique is a modern and minimally invasive method for treating hair loss. In this procedure, individual hair follicles are extracted one by one from a donor area, typically the back of the scalp, using a specialized tool. These follicles are then carefully implanted into the thinning or balding areas. One of the main benefits of FUE is that it leaves minimal scarring compared to older methods, like FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation), which involves removing a strip of scalp. FUE generally leads to faster recovery and less discomfort, and it provides natural-looking results with a dense, full appearance.
Step 1: Preparation
First, the surgeon will numb the donor area with local anaesthesia so you won’t feel pain during the procedure. To make the process smoother, the hair around the transplant area might be shaved if needed. This helps ensure the best possible results.
Step 2: Harvesting
Next, the surgeon carefully removes individual hair follicles from the donor area using a small, precise tool. These grafts are collected and kept in a special, sterile environment. Sometimes, they are stored in a cool place to help keep them healthy until they are ready to be transplanted.
Step 3: Channel Creation
The surgeon then prepares the area where the new hair will be placed by making tiny openings in the scalp. This is done with a small needle or tool to create the perfect spots for the hair follicles.
Step 4: Implantation
Finally, the hair follicles are gently placed into the tiny openings. This step is very important to make sure your new hair looks natural and blends well with the existing hair. Once the implantation is complete, the area is cleaned and bandaged to protect it and help it heal. Depending on how many grafts you need, you might need to return for more sessions.
DHI Hair Transplants: Precision and Natural Results
DHI hair transplantation is an improved version of FUE hair transplantation. As in FUE, hair follicles are collected in the same way. However, in DHI, a different method is used, and both hair follicles are placed in channels opened during transplantation. This allows for hair transplantation without shaving, meaning that the hair does not need to be shaved to add hair follicles.
The DHI method offers unshaved transplantation, denser and more natural results, and a more precise application. If these features are important to you, DHI hair transplantation may be a good option.
